
Sara Tutland graduated magna cum laude from the University of New Mexico with a Masters Degree in Music. She is flutist and first piccoloist with the New Mexico Philharmonic (retired). She has performed with the Santa Fe Opera and has been principal flutist with the Four Corners Opera in Durango, Colorado and the Bach Sommerakademie Festival in Germany. She is an active chamber music performer and has appeared as soloist in the Temple Square Concert Series in Salt Lake City. As an Ensemble Director for the symphony she has designed, directed, narrated, and performed programs for New Mexico public and private schools and civic organizations. She is past Co-President of the Albuquerque Flute Association and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of that organization serving as Treasurer and Database Manager. She is a Nationally Certified member of the Music Teachers National Association, and is active in the local, state and national branches of that organization. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Albuquerque Music Teachers Association. She has been appointed by the Music Teachers National Association to serve on a panel that evaluates music teachers applying for National Certification.
